Dr. Kamal Malla Bujarbaruah is a renowned Agricultural Scientist and academic leader, recognized for his significant contributions to veterinary and animal sciences. He served as the Country Coordinator for FAO on Animal Genetic Resources and received several prestigious awards including the D.Sc. from OUAT and the Lifetime Achievement Award. A prolific researcher, he has published over 160 research papers, authored books and bulletins and mentored many scholars, leaving a lasting impact on both national and international platforms.

Prof. Deka was a recipient of the ICAR Senior Fellowship for pursuing his doctorate and was later awarded the WINROCK International Fellowship for post-doctoral research in Molecular Genetics at the University of Florida, USA and the University of California, Berkeley, USA. He also served as a Visiting Professor at ETH Zurich, Switzerland & Seoul National University, South Korea. His research interests include Plant Molecular Genetics and Plant Tissue Culture. Prof. Deka has published over 200 research papers in National and International Journals and authored 6 books on Plant Molecular Genetics and Biotechnology.
